Environmental Monitoring Services (ems) was founded in 1986 by Rex Barnes and Chloe Morton who are both still shareholders. ems was conceived as an independent consultancy, offering straightforward, practical advice on a personal basis.
This philosophy still forms the basis of the company today. Elementus will provide you with an independent, unbiased view of your current position. We do not provide any ancillary products, remedial services or maintenance services e.g. M&E services.
As pioneers tapping into the burgeoning health, safety and environmental market, ems enjoyed a period of enormous growth. And just five years after starting, the original small office in Warnham was quickly replaced with the move to its current head office in Horsham, West Sussex.
During the late 1980s ems grew substantially by proving that management solutions provided a more long term cost effective answer to meeting compliance, reducing costs and improving the working environment.
ems developed new services to meet a changing market and the first ems risk assessment was carried out in 1991. Further services such as COSHH, asbestos, fire and manual handling were added following new legislation and to meet the growing demands of health, safety and environmental issues.
In April 2008 Environmental Monitoring Services became Elementus, to reflect the growing diversity of our service portfolio and better express the real and unique differences in what we do and how we do it. Elementus continues to develop and diversify its product range, with a wider range of Management, Assessment, Training and other workplace Health, Safety and Environmental solutions.
Today, with over 70 staff, Elementus continues to go from strength to strength. It maintains its original pioneering attitude by leading the way in new and growing areas such as, Energy, CSR and Sustainability. With its unique, client friendly, can-do culture, Elementus is looking forward to the next 20 years.
